Available for purchase at pharmacies and drugstores without a doctor’s prescription. Non-prescription drugs, also referred to as over-the-counter drugs, are available for purchase at pharmacies and drugstores without a doctor’s prescription. They are called over-the-counter (OTC) drugs because they are handed to the customer over the counter in pharmacies or drug stores. Compared to ethical pharmaceuticals, the effect is gentle and there is relatively little concern about side effects.
Gel patches
Gel patches are adhesive patches made of non-woven fabrics containing local stimulants, anti-inflammatory analgesics, or other formulations. Since a cooling sensation has an anti-inflammatory analgesic effect, cooling patches are used to treat diseases in the acute inflammatory stage. A warming sensation, on the other hand, stimulates the hot receptors in the skin therefore hot warming patches are used to treat diseases in the chronic inflammatory stage.
Tapes and plasters
Tapes are made from plastic film, fabric, knitted fabrics, or other carrier materials coated with an adhesive containing the drug. These adhesive transdermal patches combine layers of drug deposits with adhesive layers. Since they are thin and light with excellent elasticity and adhesiveness, they fit perfectly and adhere firmly even over joints with a wide range of motion. They are also a suitable remedy for chronic diseases.
